Laura Devlin
Nurse Practitioner
My sister in law was diagnosed with melanoma in 2006. I spotted the funny mole on her back at the beach and urged her to see a dermatologist. Fortunately, it was detected early enough and was completely removed. That was my ‘aha’ moment. Dermatologists save lives!
Laura graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1986 from the University of Toronto. During the first part of her career she worked as a registered nurse at the University of Michigan hospital where she worked in the inpatient and outpatient settings of the Neurology/Neurosurgery department. Ten years later she moved with her family to Phoenix and decided to pursue a Master’s degree in nursing and become a nurse practitioner. It was in graduate school that Devlin’s interest in dermatology came about. After graduating from ASU in 2001, she worked with a rheumatologist in Scottsdale, Arizona. Because many of Devlin’s patients had skin issues in addition to their joint pain, her desire to practice dermatology increased.
Following her rheumatology work, Devlin was able to transition into a full-time dermatology position in Paradise Valley, Arizona, and after that she transitioned into a position as a Nurse Practitioner at Stockton Dermatology.
Devlin is trained to do skin growth exams, biopsies, treat acne and perform cosmetic procedures using lasers.
Devlin was board certified as an adult nurse practitioner in 2001 by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center. She is licensed through the State of Arizona Board of Nursing as both an advanced practice and registered nurse. She has been a member of the Dermatology Nurses Association since 2006.
